Meet the Coaches

Callum B
HEAD COACH
I have been in the strength game for over a decade from competing for my country to leading others through their journey.
Why?
This is a chat I love to have, why after so many years this has never gotten old, I never wanted to do anything else. I started coaching with the goal of guiding others to skip the mistakes I made, but I stay here because this is the best job in the world.
Every day I get to work with driven, passionate and inspiring people, I have seen the same lifts 10’s of thousands of time and I can’t imagine I will tire of it any time soon.
The Aim: Athlete First.
My ethos will forever be the pursuit of the best possible athlete experience.
What does that mean?
No matter the level, experience or aim of the person, that every variable gets considered, that everyone gets equal time and value and that I will also pursue the betterment of my knowledge, experience and ability to provide the best possible service.
This is why DBD was made, though I absolutely still see myself as an athlete, I am a coach first in every manner and in everything I deliver.

Beck P
COACH
I became a strength coach for 2 reasons: Provide coaching for athletes who deserve it and help athletes reach their potential.
To get here I've achieved a masters degree in strength and conditioning, completed years of placement and internship work across multiple sports including rugby, football, and athletics. All while competing at the national level in rugby, athletics, strongman, and internationally in powerlifting. I don't just know what to do but how to do it.
Since completing my education I've been practicing what I preach with my own athletes in person but mainly online. Taking them from novice athletes to strolling onto the national platform for a PB
There is more to being an athlete than training, you must look after your nutrition, sleep, phycology, and social life. I know first hand that's a lot to juggle on your own, so don't. Become part of the team and we can work together on it.
Just because something is simple doesn't mean it's easy.
I look forward to working with you.

COACH
My name is Alice, I am one of the coaches in Dedicated by Design. And I truly think it’s the best job in the world!
As your powerlifting coach I will guide you in your strength training, comp prep and/or off season! I pride myself in my response times, specific programming, constructive feedback and understanding towards my athletes needs.
I love this sport because it proves that we can do hard things, that we can push past our preconceived expectations and our goals can be limitless!
Anyone can be an athlete, so long as you treat yourself as one.

Ryan E
COACH
I’ve been in the strength industry for over half a decade and I don’t intend to stop anytime soon. Why? Because I fully believe powerlifting is an opportunity to create a lifestyle that can be cultivated and nurtured to create the best version of an individual. I want to be the guidepost that helps support this journey.
A quote I find myself mentioning time & time again
‘AN ATHLETE ISN’T DEFINED BY STEPPING ONTO A PLATFORM, BUT THE COMMITMENT AND RESOLVE THEY PUT INTO BETTERING THEMSELVES EVERY DAY.’
Here at DBD, we pride ourselves on the “athlete first” experience. To give equal opportunity to EVERY athlete we coach, to dedicated our time, knowledge & experience to provide the best possible experience.

Sheryl M
JUNIOR COACH
I'm in my fifth year as a coach and as an athlete and my passion for both is exponential.
I began my journey as someone who didn't believe they could - all it took was for someone to show me why I should try.
Now it's my turn to take others with that mindset and help them reach their potential.
It's a privilege to help my clients discover their true potential and support them on that unique journey.
This sport has done so much for me, I want to show as many people as possible what it could do for them. I want to show them that their potential starts here.
Strength isn't just numbers, it's rejecting comfort and accepting that what challenges you, changes you.

Sports have always been a fundamental part of my life. However, it wasn't until I delved into powerlifting that I found my passion. Now, I'm excited to share my expertise and knowledge. My approach is clear: honesty, support, and motivation. I know each journey is unique, so I customise my guidance accordingly.
My aim is simple: equip you with the tools and encouragement to achieve your fitness goals, inside the gym and on the platform. With me, trust you'll have the support and direction to push past your limits to achieve greatness.

I have been powerlifting since 2018, but have been around strength training since 2014 as an athlete. I obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology in 2022 while also being a personal trainer working with a multitude of individuals.
I started coaching with the purpose of meeting athletes where they are in their powerlifting journey, and then helping them get to places that they thought they couldn't get to.

I’ve been surrounded by strange metal discs for 10 years now and we’re just getting started!
I kicked my journey off in anticipation for overcoming my own obstacles, that lead to stepping on the platform as a competitive powerlifter!
Now, a full time Strength Coach with the aim ‘Giving athletes what they deserve - BETTER’

My background was originally in football, however, my love for lifting started 5 years ago and quickly took over. It drove me towards completing my bachelor’s sport and exercise science degree, my master’s degree in strength and conditioning, and years of placement and internship work in various team sports.
During my education and since after, powerlifting has sparked my competitive edge and I have been developing my craft as a coach.
If there is one thing I have an immense passion for, it is helping people. The best way I can is as a strength coach, not only because I have the experience and knowledge but because it is exactly what I am meant to do. Nothing speaks to me more than helping people realise their potential in any performance of health endeavour.
